ROBERTA BELLEKOM

Roberta  was recently commissioned to create puppets for a large scale outdoor production touring three Cornish theatres. She trained the company and also conducted workshops with schools and community groups. In 2019 she designed, created and operated puppets for Dolls In Amber’s acclaimed Villain Interrupted at the Ecetera Theatre, London. This followed an extensive tour in David Walliam’s Awful Auntie playing the West End and major theatres throughout the UK. Prior to that she appeared in a one-woman musical, No Finer Life, (The Pleasance and touring, also BBC Radio 4 and World Service), written by The Archers’ Graham Harvey. Her other credits include Miranda in The Tempest and in productions of Animal Farm, Waiting for Godot, One Way, a play she also wrote, and as Grace in Vaughn Williams, for BBC Radio 3. She is a veteran of the Edinburgh Fringe with her one-woman show, Last Petal Falling. A member of several improvisation companies, she is also a qualified stage combat fighter.

Scrap is a family show aimed at audiences aged 6+. Its roots are to be found in a Nepalese traditional fairytale, updated for audiences today. 

 

Scrap gently explores the eternal theme of finding new life in the most unexpected places. With a message of renewal and recycling at its heart, it’s the story of a young boy and his journey through the magical world of the unwanted and unvalued, as new life emerge from the debris in an epic adventure.
